A1. What is Shared Hosting?
Also known as virtual hosting, this form of web hosting should suffice for most everyone.
Shared hosting simple refers to the fact that your site is on one server, and that this server hosts mulitple sites. You are virtually shared - your site will not be the only one on this specific server.
This option provides a reliable and cheap solution.

A2. What is a Domain Name?
A domain name is a word along with a TLD that uniquely identifies your website.

A3. What exactly is diskspace and bandwidth/data transfer?
Diskspace is the size your website can be. Every single letter on your website has to be stored somewhere on your web host's server. Each letter is one byte, and a megabyte is roughly one million bytes. HTML pages are usually very small, but it is the extra images, scripts, and even databases that can take up large amounts of disk space.

Bandwidth/Transfer is the amount of data the server will allow your site to send in a month. Transfer is usually measured in gigabytes - billions of bytes.

A4. What are PHP, perl etc?
These are all programming languages which are referred to by their acronyms.

PHP - PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor
Perl - not an acronym

Each programming language has its own benefits and uses. It is best that you research on your own to find one that best fits your needs.

A5. Do I have to change my domain if I get a new host?
No. Provided that the domain is registered in your name (as it should be), you can simply update your namservers (from where you manage your domain names) to that of your new host.

A6. Does Masgra support Microsoft FrontPage?
Masgra installs the necessary extensions for you to use FrontPage. These extensions are needed to enable you to publish your site with FrontPage, and to run the tools supported by FrontPage: WebBots, ToDo Lists and the FrontPage/Explorer interface. Masgra does not offer technical support for issues directly related to the use of FrontPage or any FTP software, instead we encourage you to contact the manufacturer directly.

A7. How do I upload my website so it shows up on the Internet?
You can upload your website using FTP software. FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol, which is an application that allows you to transfer your files to your web site. Think of it as simply copying files from your computer to ours. You may also upload your files by using the built-in File Manager that comes with your cPanel Control Panel.

A8. What if I misspell my domain name?
Unfortunately, once a domain name has been registered, it cannot be changed. Please type your domain name carefully when placing an order! You will be given a chance to review your information before your order is submitted.
